The Great Wall in the country is for 2014

The Brazilian group that is studying the construction of a plant of Chinese Great Wall vehicles in the country has decided to postpone the project for 2014, said yesterday a representative of the group. The plant, with initial capacity for 50 thousand vehicles per year, had forecast initial start to be built in Brazil earlier this year. The total investment of the project, including Assembly of dealer network is estimated at about $ 1 billion.
"The decision to have the factory continues, but the company decided to postpone the start of the work to the middle of next year," said market analyst of Latin American Motors (LAM), Leandro Machado, citing its decision in February.
LAM, controlled by individual investors of São Paulo, will be responsible for gathering the resources for investment in the factory, while the Great Wall will provide technology for the enterprise.
The Great Wall is the largest manufacturer of sport utility (SUV) of China and initially three models of the brand will be produced in the future Brazil factory, a pickup, an SUV and a mini SUV, said Machado.
Executives of the Great Wall last year visited the cities of Ribeirão Preto and Guarulhos in São Paulo and Joinville (SC) and Salvador. According to the representative, the decision of the site is not yet taken.
When he visited Ribeirão Preto last September, the Director of development of the factories of Great Wall, Steve Wang, said that the company had plans to bring parts suppliers to settle around the future factory, according to the City Office. The Great Wall has recorded sales of 620 thousand vehicles in China in 2012 and 2013 plans sales of 700 thousand units, including exports to 140 thousand vehicles.
If the installation plans are confirmed, the Great Wall will strengthen the presence of Chinese automakers of vehicles in Brazil, which includes brands like Chery and JAC.
