Choice acquires Unilever factory and production increases in 40%

The unit is located in the city of Patos de Minas (MG). The structure of 22 thousand square meters, will raise the production capacity of Choice, manufacturer of milk sub-products, in 40% this year, according to Antônio Carlos Tadiotti, managing partner of the company. The value of the deal was not informed, but it is known that will count with the participation of private banks and the BNDES (Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social).
The Choice will invest $ 20 million renovation and expansion of the factory. Tadiotti provides that, in 2014, the tomato processing firm, currently 260 thousand tons per year, must bend. And, in addition to the reform of the factory, the Choice articulates partnerships with local producers for the supply of industrial-type tomato.
The negotiation between Choice and Unilever lasted three months. Founded 22 years ago, the Choice of Favourite brands, owns 10 +, Stella d'Oro and Tradelli. The company has four factories in the States of Sao Paulo and Goias.
