The investment must be set by the end of the year, but, according to the Executive, the Land Rover brand, controlled by the Indian group Tata, still assessing what is the best location for the project.
Padovan doesn't reveal which States are in contention. But, as it was found the value, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are the Favorites to lead the venture.
During lecture in Conference organized in São Paulo by Autodata, Padovan said that the biggest challenge of the brand will be equalizing the combination of an investment considered high with a low scale production line. At the same time, the company will have to comply with all the required production steps by the new automotive system, as well as develop technologies unavailable today in Brazil.
Ads on local production of cars made by German BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz predict investment around $ 500 million and annual production capacity in the range of 20 thousand to 32 thousand vehicles.
Padovan, however, chose not to anticipate the size of the Land Rover design. According to the Executive, the brand has the plan to assemble cars in Brazil since 2010, but in the past two years had to re-evaluate the project to suit it to the rules of the new automotive system.
