Volkswagen will produce new Golf in Mexico

Volkswagen, Europe's biggest carmaker, plans to manufacture one of his highest sales volume cars, Golf, in Mexico, to try to expand their sales in North America.
The production model's hatch is scheduled for 2014 in the factory in Puebla and sold well in South America. The cars will complement exports of Golf, which will leave Wolfsburg's factories and Zwickau, both in Germany.
"Volkswagen has ambitious plans for growth and put in production in factories crucial to hit growth targets," said Daniel Schwarz, an analyst at Commerzbank in Frankfurt. "You cannot be successful in mass car segment if you only import cars".
The production of Golf in Puebla is part of plan to invest $ 5 billion over the next three years in North America. The growth in the region is crucial to turning the world's biggest carmaker Volkswagen in until 2018.
Assemble the new model in Mexico also will mean lower labor costs and a protection against foreign exchange fluctuations between the euro and dollar. In addition, the automaker wants to compensate for the drop in sales in Europe, which fell 1.1 percent in 2012.
VW, which is growing in countries like China and Brazil in recent years, is behind GM and Toyota Motor Sales in the United States. To achieve the competitors, opened a factory in Silao, Mexico, for $ 550 million.
