Sharp may sell to Lenovo a TV factory in China, within the efforts to dispose of assets and improve finances, according to sources.
The Japanese manufacturer dealing with the Lenovo sale of LCDs in Nanking and the formation of partnerships with the Chinese company in China, said two industry sources familiar with the discussions told Reuters.
In a statement to the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Sharp said it had not announced any trades. The conversations had been reported initially by the Nikkei newspaper, Japan.
Sharp was already negotiating with the Hon Hai unit TV sales in China and a factory in Mexico. The Taiwan company, which also is negotiating to buy a part of Sharp and has already bought an LCD factory in Japan, can now just stick with the Mexican unit.
