McDonald's plans to invest $ 3.2 billion

The chain of restaurants McDonald's plans to invest about $ 3.2 billion to open between 1,500 and 1,600 restaurants and also reinvest in old shops, through reforms of 1,600 points in the world. The company has about 34 thousand restaurants in 119 countries.
In Brazil, the company responsible for operation is Arcos Dorados. Therefore, investments in Brazil do not enter the plan announced yesterday by McDonald 's.
Last year the McDonal's project announced to invest $ 2.9 billion to open 1,300 points in 2012. There is no data in the material released yesterday if the 2012 investment plan was fulfilled in its entirety.
McDonald's earned $ 27.6 billion in 2012, up 2% on 2011. Same-store "sales (open a year ago, at least) grew 3.1% in the world, with a high of 3.3% in the United States, 2.4% and 1.4% in Europe in Asia, Pacific, Middle East and Africa. The sum total sales (old and new), high in the world was 2%. Don Thompson, President of the company, said he expects that, in the short term, "the ' top and bottom line ' [or gross sales and profit] will remain under pressure, with global comparable sales [stores open more than a year ago] negative in January".
Analysts assessed as positive the results released yesterday. The company recorded a fall in operating profit and a drop in earnings per share in the third quarter of 2012. It cited the need for the company to have to continue to prove that they have a new value to deliver to consumers, but the reward of this effort is more visible today, analysts said foreign reports.
Between data assessed as positive is for sale in the fourth quarter, which reached $ 6,952 billion, and bank analysts had expected number not exceeding $ 6.8 billion. "Consumers continue to respond positively to our appealing value platform, to our menu of premium products and relevance of convenience," said McDonald 's, in a note.
