BRF faces difficulty to supply supermarket chains

Nearly four years after the merger of Sadia and Perdigão, which resulted in the creation of BRF, the company still faces some difficulties to supply retailers. The manufacturer has managed to keep stable delivery of products such as ham, sausage, pizza, lasagna, hamburger and Turkey Breast, according to supermarket owners heard by BRAZIL.
This is not the first time that the manufacturer fails to deliver your food. At Christmas of 2011, some retailers complained that they had received only 20% of the total ordered of meat quite sought after in time, such as peru, tender and chester, according to report published by the newspaper in late November of that year.
Sought, the BRF reported that just go through a period of strong demand, which traditionally occurs at the end of the year because of Christmas and new year. According to retailers, the deliveries requests are no longer regulars since the time of the merger. "In recent months they have delivered 30% less than we have," says Antonio de Souza, Manager of Futurama, supermarket chain with seven units in São Paulo. The retailer, the problem is related mainly to products such as Lasagna, Hamburger, ham and Turkey Breast.
Earlier this year, the Futurama faced the most critical situation. BRF vendors reported that the company would supply retailer for ten days, during which time would be changing its corporate name. "Some invoices came with Sound name. Now it's all BRF Brazil Foods ", says Souza. The situation coincided with the change in the company logo. On 16 January this year, the BRF has sent a notice to the market stating that the company would have a new visual identity from that day: the logo has changed colour and shape.
Another midsize supermarket network heard the report states that the BRF is struggling to deliver a few choices of pizza, ham and sausage. "These products often miss in gondolas", says an Executive who prefers not to be identified. Already in a large supermarket, the lack of latest products was perceived in December last year.
"He missed this season because ham for Christmas, the BRF tends to prioritize the pigs for the production of Christmas meat. But the situation has returned to normal in our network ", says the Executive, who also asked not to be named. The Futurama has not had the same luck. "It is common that the BRF produces less ham at the end of the year. But let's get into February and the situation has not yet returned to normal, "laments.
In the third quarter of last year, the BRF ended his agreement with the Administrative Council for economic Defense (Cade). So the merger between Sadia and Perdigao were approved, the company had to get rid of various brands, among them Doriana, Tekitos and Fiesta. Also sold manufacturing plants, distribution centers and slaughterhouses.
As was already foreseen by the manufacturer, compliance of the agreement impacted results in the third quarter of 2012. Net profit in the period was r $ 90.9 million, a fall of 75% compared with three equivalents of 2011. The annual balance sheet of the company will be announced only on March 4.

In recent months, the market has followed the movement of the shareholders of the BRF to place Abilio Diniz, owner of Grupo Pão de Açúcar, in the Presidency of the Board of Directors. The intention to bring the entrepreneur to indoors brings some drawbacks to the BRF.
