Brands come together to help truckers

In an initiative to help truckers, who have been struggling to find open establishments and eat during this pandemic period, Copagaz created Gaztronomia, a support network with the collaboration of company employees and which has gained the support of other brands. Until june 5th, the idea is to donate another 10,000 marmites on the Anchieta and Castelo Branco highways. On the Anchieta Highway, the action runs until May 23 with the donation of 150 meals a day. There, the initiative has the partnership of Jasmine, Natura, Scania and ZEG, in addition to Road Policing and all the support of the Transport Agency of the State of São Paulo (Artesp). At the point of Castelo Branco, another strategic location on the route of cargo transport, the truck driver receives hygiene inside the truck itself, and the employees deliver the meal without the driver getting out of the vehicle. According to Copagaz, all marmites are produced by small local restaurants to support the microentrepreneur. The public can also engage and expand the number of marmites donated, by iFood, in the donation area. On the Castelo Branco Highway, the action receives the support of brands such as iFood, Coca-Cola and Unilever. "Gaztronomia is much more than distribution of meals. It's a chain not to let the essentials stop. To this, it adds the energy of Copagaz and other companies. The positive impact is for the whole society," says Pedro Zahran Turqueto, director of development and management at Copagaz.
