Number of passengers in eight months of 2019 is the largest in the history of the Viracopos concession

The passenger flow at Viracopos International Airport in Campinas (SP) was the best in history in the eight months of this year. According to the concessionaire airports Brazil, which manages the structure, from January to August passed through the terminal 7 million of people, highest number since privatization, in half of 2012. Before, the record movement in the period had been in 2015. The airport also recorded the best August in history, with 913,900 passengers in transit through the terminal. Also according to the concessionaire's data, the month was the best fourth since the beginning of the concession, losing to July 2015 (955,600 people), January 2015 (978,300) and July 2019 (955,500). The high this year shows the beginning of the Viracopos reaction after going through the worst crisis since the beginning of privatization. Despite the resumption of passengers, the airport is in judicial recovery and the concessionaire studies the sale of shares.
