Light Bill will continue with extra charge in September, says Aneel

The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) reported on Friday (30) that the light bill will continue with extra charge in September. According to the agency, the tariff flag will remain in the red color level 1. In other words, there will be an extra charge of R $4 in the light account every 100 kilowatt hours (kWh) consumed. Still according to Aneel, September is a typical month of drought, and the forecast for the month signals the permanence of the dry season, with below average rainfall. Aneel also affirms that this scenario requires the maintenance of the activation of the thermal plants, which makes the power generation more prevalent. Tariff Flags The system of tariff flags signals the cost of power generation. The goal is to inform consumers when this cost increases and allow them to reduce their use to avoid paying a more expensive light bill.
