Cement sales record high of 2.9%

Cement sales totaled 35.9 million tons between January and August of this year, an increase of 2.9% in comparison with the same period of 2018. The data is part of a survey carried out by the National Union of the Cement Industry (SNIC). In August, sales totaled 5.1 million tons, growth of 3%, and apparent consumption of cement, which considers domestic sales and imports, totalled 5.1 million tons, a 2.9% advance. In the last 12 months (September 2018 to August 2019), the accumulated sales recorded a high of 1.8% in the annual comparison, to 53.6 million of tons of cement.
