Average residential property price is stable in August, says FipeZap

The sale prices of residential properties were practically stable in August, according to the FipeZap survey released on Wednesday (4). Last month, the survey found that prices recorded a slight high of 0.06%, after they declined 0.03% in July. In the first eight months of the year, sales prices rose 0.32% and were below the variation in inflation. For the same period, the expectation is that the national index of wide consumer prices (IPCA) accumulates a high of 2.55%. The survey takes into account the value of the property listings for sale. To make the comparison with inflation, the study considers the prediction of the Focus Bulletin, from the Central bank, to the IPCA – considered the official inflation index of the country. In 12 months, real estate sales prices have risen 0.40%, while expected inflation is 3.44% for the period. In August, the average price of residential real estate sales was R $7,182 per square meter in the 50 cities surveys. The capital with the highest price per square metre was Rio de Janeiro (R $9,364). After that, they appeared in São Paulo (R $8,978) and Brasília (R $7,268).
