Order of hand luggage outside of the pattern begins on Thursday in 4 airports in the country

The Brazilian Airlines began this month to intensify the monitoring of the size of hand baggage of passengers in domestic flights of these companies. And from this Thursday (25), in the country's four airports, baggage that are above the standard size will have to be dispatched. The measure begins to pay for while at airports Juscelino Kubitschek (Brasilia); Afonso Pena (Curitiba); Viracopos (Campinas/SP) and Aluízio Alves (Christmas). In other nine terminals, airlines are advising passengers on these standards in force – but the compulsory dispatch still won't count. In may, the guidance will be made in two more airports. Until May 23, the cabin outside of the standard will be dispatched on 15 terminals of the country. Allowable size of luggage According to Abear, the Brazilian Airline Association, the goal is to streamline the flow of customers boarding areas, avoiding delays. Since the beginning of the collection by the baggage shipped, many passengers have opted to take only hand luggage – sometimes to excessive dimensions –, causing time loading disorders on the aircraft. Before entering the boarding areas, passengers will have to check if the size of the luggage conforms to the standards set by the companies: 55 cm high x 35 cm wide and 25 cm deep. At airports in orientation phase, passengers will be informed of the rules in force. The terminals where sorting has already been implemented, the baggage that exceed the allowable size must be dispatched in the check-in counters of airlines, and will be subject to collection by the service. In the four participating companies-Latam, Gol, Azul and Avianca Brazil-the value of the checked baggage varies between R $59 and R $220.
