Volvo will invest $250 million to expand production in R Curitiba

Truck and bus maker Volvo, with factory in Curitiba (PR), will invest R $250 million to expand the production. The company has already hired at the beginning of year 300 employees, according to this morning's announcement Wednesday, 13, by the President of the company, Wilson Lirmann. The value is additional to R $1 billion that the Swedish group had programmed for the period 2017-2019. "This decision is a result of consistent signs of resumption of the economy and the expectation of an increase of about 30% in the total market of trucks in Brazil," said the Executive. In 2018 the Volvo 10,642 trucks sold domestically, up 79% from the previous year. The brand acts only in the segment of large vehicles used primarily by agricultural and mining sectors.
