Cade approves purchase of 10% of Qualicorp by Rede d'or

The Superintendence-General of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade) approved the purchase, by Rede d'or, of a participation in Qualicorp, the largest administrator of health plans for membership of the country. The transaction was announced in August. In all, the D ´ Or Network — the largest hospital group in Brazil — took about 10% of Qualicorp. Owner of 45 hospitals in seven states, Rede d'or is diversifying its activities. In addition to the entry into Qualicorp as a minority shareholder, the company owns about 35 oncological clinics, more than 10 diagnostic medicine laboratories and dialysis units. His revenue last year totaled R $11 billion, growth of 16% over 2017. Qualicorp calculated net revenues of R $1.9 billion in 2018, a decline of 2.1% over a year earlier.
