São Paulo trade closes 5800 jobs in June, says FecomercioSP

The São Paulo trade closed 5800 job openings in June, which took the total jobs eliminated during the first half of this year to 33700. Based on data from the General Register of the employed and unemployed (Caged) Ministry of labour of nine branches of Commerce in 16 regions of the State, the survey is released by FecomercioSP and has been registering cuts in the work force of the sector since the beginning of the year. The exception was April, when they were created 2300 vacancies. According to the entity, the first half is marked by shrinkage of formal employment, but in 2018 the scenario worsened as a result of the strike of truckers and frustrating performance of the economy. The FecomercioSP notes that unemployment remains high and household consumption, dammed. "This meeting, together with the next election-rigging, causes increased uncertainty and, naturally, the confidence of the entrepreneurs," the entity. Between nine activities monitored, only the car dealerships opened vacancies in June: 170 new jobs. On the opposite end of the list, closed more openings the clothing stores, fabrics and shoes (1800) and retailers of building materials (1200).
