CASSAVA: DESPITE THE LOWER OFFER AND GRINDING, QUOTES RETREAT

The rains recorded last week interrupted harvesting and the planting of cassava in practically all regions accompanied by Cepea in the Center-South of Brazil. According to contributors to the Cepea, this scenario has limited the supply of root and reduced the grind in the starch-producing undertakings and farinheiras. Still, the values fell, pressured by weak demand, especially by the flour industry. Between 6 and 10 August, the average nominal value of the manioc ton term put undertaking was R $441.57 (R $0.7679 per gram of starch on hydrostatic balance of 5 kg), 6.9% below the previous average. Compared to the same period last year, the decline is 22.6% in updated values (deflacionamento by the IGP-DI July 2018).
