Anvisa Prohibits the sale of 4 Hair Straighteners

The national health surveillance agency (Anvisa) banned the sale of four hair straighteners available on the market. The products contain formaldehyde, considered a carcinogen, above the level permitted by law. The Straighteners are: all lots of Professional Maxxdonna Matutinha 02 Volume reducing Mask (G.A. M); all batches of 2 Step Ingel Maxx Premium Forever Liss Professional (made up by 31/10/2017 JTIS cosmetics); batch 054 Forever Liss Botox (Aguss); and batch Bio-5444 Amazon Clay Therapy (Embratec Envaso). The analyses were done by the Central Public Health Laboratory of Pernambuco. According to Anvisa, the use of formaldehyde in cosmetics is limited due to your toxic aspect, being only allowed as a preservative of products-the concentration of up to 0.2%, and never as hair with smoothing.
