Assaí invests R $18,000,000 in new store in Goiânia

The first store of the Assai converted from an Extra Hyper in Goiânia was opened on Wednesday (31/5). The unit, which is located in the bairro Jardim Europa, in the region West of the capital, went through a process that involves adjustments in structure, layout, equipment, among other changes required for the operation of the wholesale model. This will be the third unit of the network in the city and demanded an investment of R $18,000,000.
In the process of converting this store, the adaptation cost between 60% and 70% of the investment in a new store, built from scratch. This inauguration is part of the project of the GPA conversions, owner of the Extra marks and Assai, has invested since last year, when opened two shops (one in the State of São Paulo and one in Rio de Janeiro).
Krishna Garg, Chairman of Assai, States that the good performance of the units of the network wholesaler in Goiânia justifies the investment of Assai, besides the city is an important economic pole in the Central Plateau region.
According to the retailer, the new store has more than 270 parking spaces and has 14500 m ² of constructed area, 4500 m ² of being sales area, where they will be made available approximately from 7000 items. For this store, were generated approximately 400 vacancies of direct and indirect jobs.
