Abrasce: visitation in malls grows for second month followed after a year of falling

SAO PAULO-the movement in shopping malls has shown signs of recovery earlier this year, with growth for the second consecutive month. In February, the number of consumers who went through a shopping center in the country was 0.98% higher than in the same month of last year.
January was the first month with growth in visitation after 11 months in a row of falling, according to a survey conducted by the Brazilian Association of Shopping centres (Abrasce) in partnership with FX Retail Analytics, consulting firm specializing in retail.
According to the founding partner of the consulting firm, Walter Sabini Junior, high for the second consecutive month national is unprecedented since the beginning of measurements in June 2015. "The process started during the height of the crisis, and this growth stimulating is a natural tendency after the upturn, expected for this year of 2017," he says.
