The sales volume of cookies was stable last year compared with 2014. Handled 1.7 million tons, according to the Abimapi (Brazilian Association of industries of cookies, pasta and breads & Industrialized Cakes).
In value, the high was 7.1%, reaching r $ 21 billion in 2015. Already the per capita consumption reached 8.5 kg/year.
The entity also disclosed that the categories of cakes and breads, together, achieved industrialised R $ 6 billion. This represented an increase of only 3.4%. The bread alone, moved R$ 5.18 billion, with growth of 4.8% over the previous year. The sales volume reached 463.3 1000 tons and per capita consumption was 2.27 kg/year.
Pasta, in turn, had a high of 2.8% in revenue last year, reaching 8.2 billion R$. Dried versions had increased 3.8% and 2.2%, instant.
