Drop in wheat prices is passed on to the derivatives

The prices of wheat grain and derivatives (bran and flour) closed October fall. For the grain, the values have been influenced by the advancement of the harvest and the fall of the dollar. In the bran, the pressure comes from the greater availability of wheat grain and the resulting drop in prices of this raw material. For the animal feed sector, the wheat grain comes to be more competitive than the bran. Contributors to the Cepea claim that many industries have used the wheat grain for feed composition, in order to reduce costs.
As for the flour market, prices also accumulate retreat in October. Buyers follow retracted, no interest in acquiring new batches in the short term and in closing contracts, since they''re in expectation of lower prices in November. On Monday (31) the average price of wheat in Rio Grande do Sul closed at 593.91 R$ ton, 3.14% drop in seven days and 12.65 percent in the month. In Paraná, the average value of the cereal was 633.06 R$ ton, 0.23% lower on the week and 2.39% in the month.
