Manufacturer of Dona Benta and Sun more than doubles profit in second quarter

The food manufacturer j. M, owner of the brand Owner, Sun, Petybon products and Barry, recorded a net profit of r $ 19.2 million in the second quarter, more than doubling the $ 9.3 million of the same period in 2014. The result was positively impacted by a reduction of financial expenses and an income tax credit.
Net revenue totaled r $ 345 million, a fall of 11.3%. The volume of sales fell from 8.1% in the quarter, compared with the same interval last year to 184.3 million tons, due to the "time of national economy", according to the company.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) retreated 1.9 percent, to $ 31.5 million. The result before taxes on net income was r $ 18 million, with growth of 35.8%, on a 43.2% drop in financial expenses, for $ 7.2 million.
Also contributed to the high of net income a income tax credit of r $ 1.2 million, against tax expense of $ 3.1 million a year earlier.
