Owens Illinois Launches beer bottle that controls the collar

Owens Illinois (O-I), the largest manufacturer of glass containers in the world, has just launched its portfolio of beer bottles, with special focus on craft and gourmet market, during the Brazil Brau, international fair 2015 of technology in Beer, which is considered the largest professional event brewery in the country. Its main novelty is the bottle neck able to control the level of the collar. Held since 1989 by the Brazilian Association of professionals in Beer and malt (Cobracem) and organized by Fagga | GL events Exhibitions, the fair took place from 15 to 17 July in São Paulo Expo Exhibition Centre, the former Centro de Exposições Imigrantes.
The new bottle developed by O-I brings enhanced functionality to allow the control of one of the most important attributes of beer: your collar. In addition to differentiation, this innovation increases brand interaction with consumers and recreates the Act of serving the drink. "The area of craft beers and gourmet has grown a lot in Brazil, so we developed a line of products specifically for that niche, in addition to the creation of a special bottle, with technology to control the collar, a differential in the consumer experience," says Daniel Amaral, Marketing Manager of I in Brazil.
Produced with natural materials, glass has a unique sensory appeal with the beer lovers, because it preserves the authenticity of the taste, color and aroma of the product. In addition to the broad portfolio capable of meeting all the varieties of the drink, I develop custom projects to assist in building brands and market positioning. At the booth of the company in Brazil this year Brau, visitors could see the bottles produced options for the various types of beer and talk with experts about trends in packaging.
The Brazil Brau brought together some 65 exhibitors from Brazil, China, Belgium, Germany, United States, Russia and Colombia, which showed their innovations in equipment, ingredients and accessories for manufacturing and packaging of beer.
