Approved amendment that allows sale of ground meats homogenised

With the effort of the parliamentary front in defense trade, Joint service and Entrepreneurship (CSE) was approved on July 15 day ASP, on Commission of development, industry and trade (CDEIC), an amendment to the PL 699/2015 to allow marketing of homogenized meat ground produced according to good manufacturing practices, to be defined by the competent body, within 180 days of the publication of the law.
The project of law No. 699, 2015, authored by Congressman Romulus Gouveia (PSD/PB), prohibited the direct sale to the consumer of meat previously milled, allowing just ground meat industrialized trading. The Bill, with the new amendment, will follow now to consumer protection commissions and later of Constitution and justice and citizenship.
To the Vice President of OPEN, Tojo Mathew, homogenized, if ground beef produced within quality standards, is an advantage for the consumer. "This amendment is undoubtedly an achievement for all of us and especially for the consumer, that you will be able to choose a better product and standardized. The new measure, if approved, will encourage the networks to further improve their facilities and the safety of the meat exposed for sale. "

The Brazilian Association of Supermarkets (OPEN) for a long time works in defending the sale of ground meats homogenised produced according to good manufacturing practices, which includes the ground product by following proper hygiene standards, surveyed by the competent organ, and with quality, if not ground meat industrialised.
Open brings together all the supermarket sector in the country, which currently has almost 84 thousand stores in the country, with revenues of R $ 294,9 billion in 2014.
