Dairy imports fell on month-to-month comparison

According to the Ministry of development, industry and foreign trade (MDIC), in February, Brazil imported $ $26,7 million in dairy products. In comparison with the previous month, the purchases have decreased by 25.3%. In January the amount spent was $ $35,7 million.
The volume also fell. Increased from 9.4 thousand tonnes to 7.7 million tonnes. The most imported product was powdered milk, followed by cheeses, which together totaled 6.4 million tons and $ $23,8 million in February.
The leading supplier of dairy products to Brazil in value were Argentina (48.1 percent), Uruguay (47.3%) and France (2.1 percent).
However, in comparison with the same period in 2014, the Brazil increased its turnover with imports of 7.5% and dairy the volume at 42.7%.
