Brazil Kirin reverses losses and profits $ 22.8 mi in 2014

Beverage maker Kirin Brazil reported net income of r $ 22.8 million in the year 2014, a reversal of loss of r $ 65.4 million in the previous year.
Despite having registered a drop in the volume of drinks sold in the year, the result was influenced by the company's efforts to focus a larger product portfolio profitability, says the VP of finance Celso Marciniuk.
Net revenues in 2014 reached r $ 3,987 billion, an increase of 1%. The volume already reached 30 million Hectoliters, down 9% compared to the previous year.
Marciniuk asserts that the company began to implement in the second half of 2014 a new search strategy of profitability. "We don't do volume at any price," commented.
According to him, the strategy includes greater adaptation of products sold in each region and each sales channel. At the same time, also grew the participation of "premium" products, like Baden Baden beer and Kirin Ichiban, launched in 2014.
The strategy, however, resulted in a growth of cost of goods sold per hectolitre, which climbed 7% in 2013.
The Commission considered, however, that high inflation and is aligned with the increase in the cost of inputs, in particular those linked to foreign currencies.
