Cardboard sales grow 0.88% in December, says ABPO

In December, sales of cardboard-boxes, corrugated sheets and accessories-rose 0.88% in comparison with the same month of 2013, to 262.726 thousand tons. Compared to November, sales declined 10.61%. The data provided in previous Bulletin of the Brazilian Association of corrugated board (ABPO).
Year to date of 2014, until December, the growth is 0.15%, with the total of 3.404 million tons. In total throughout the year of 2013, sales had climbed 2.89 percent to 2012, to 3.399 million tons.
The slowdown in sales in 2014 was evident every month, with consecutive declines registered in April, may and June, to 5.22 percent, 1.46 percent and 3.36%, respectively. In October and November, the indentations were 1.80% and 2.29% in comparison with the same month in 2013.
