Electronics production back up 21.5% in June

The Brazilian manufacturers of electronics registered a decline of 21.5 percent in production in June 2014 compared with the same month last year, according to data from the Brazilian Institute of geography and statistics (IBGE), aggregated and disclosed by the Brazilian Association of electrical and Electronics Industry (Abinee).
According to the entity, the result is the fruit of the downfalls of 24.9% electronic segment and 18.4% of the electrical. During the month of June, only the production of equipment for telecommunications surged in the electronics area. On the negative side, stood out the indentation of 41% of sales of electronic devices (Brown line).
In the electric area, almost all goods showed retraction, with the exception of production of generators, transformers and electric motors, which grew 3.2 percent. The largest declines occurred in manufacturing equipment for distribution and power control, domestic appliances and other electrical appliances. Year to date, the production of the electronics sector fell 0.4 percent, while Electronics grew 8% and 7.8% have fallen electric.
Employment for the second consecutive month, the electronics sector recorded a fall in the level of signings. According to Abinee data in June, the sector's industries fired 1,010 employees. In May had already been closed 540 openings. With this performance, reduced to 710 the number of open jobs in the first six months of this year.
The study of Abinee indicates also that the sector ended the month of June with a total of 178,570 direct employees, a drop of 0.70% as compared to the same month last year.
