Sales of tablets grow 312% in 2013

The tablets recorded a 312% growth in sales in 2013 with relation to the previous year, according to the study from Nielsen MMA. The devices that cost less than $ 1,000 have registered a bigger increase: 509%. They represent today 87% of this market. Smartphones also had prominence last year with a 95% growth in retail sales. In December it was registered the largest volume of purchase of this product in the year. Appliances accounted for 55% of total electronics purchased in the month.
As for the type of access, the 3 g keeps the leadership, being in 51% of gadgets, followed by the 2 g with 46.70 percent. Draws attention also the growth of the use of cell phones as primary means to the internet. This is the preference of one third of the population. Among the operating systems, the most popular is the Android, with 73% of users, followed by the iOS, with 14%. Windows Phone appears in the third position representing 8% of the total.
The survey pointed out also the most accessed sites. Highlight the e-mail and social networks that appear tied with 77% of accesses. WhatsApp presented a significant growth in the last year and begins to put between the most used services. The exchange of concurrent messages grew from 53% to 74% over the last 12 months.
