According to CervBrasil – Brazilian Association of the Beer Industry, which congregates the Ambev, Petropolis, Brazil Heineken and Kirin, in March there was growth of 23.7% of the production of beer, to 1.19 million liters, compared to last year. The main factors for the improvement, according to Paul Petroni, Executive Director of the Association, was the largest period of summer, coupled with the Carnival in early March and at high temperatures. Despite the positive quarter, concerns still consist in the industry due to growing volumes this year, since taxes have increased.
