Total Lubricants must invest $ 15 mi in expansion

SAO PAULO-the Total Lubricants of Brazil intends to invest $ 15 million in the expansion of its factory in Pindamonhangaba, in the interior of Sao Paulo. The goal, according to the Director-General of the society, Luis David Rodriguez, is doubling the processing power of lubricants. With the expansion, the company hopes to repeat in 2014 the rhythm of the results presented in the last five years.
Explains the investment Total, is a response to the increased demand for solid lubricants in the domestic market, pulled by the high production of automobiles. According to data from the National Association of Automotive vehicle manufacturers (Anfavea), last year the production of vehicles in the country reached 3.740 million units, a rise of 9.9% for 2012.
According to the IHS chemistry, about 70% of all lubricants used in the country are aimed at automotive applications such as engine oil, diesel, gasoline and flex fuels, greases and fluids. According to report by IHS, Brazil is the sixth world market for lubricants, after China, United States, India, Japan and Russia.
