Anyone who has ever visited lawn, one of the principal tourist destinations of Rio Grande do Sul, possibly also have stayed in one of the six gourmet chocolate factory stores, which together receive 700 thousand customers per year. Now the company has decided to move forward with force outside the city of origin and started a project of franchises to reach more than 150 outlets in all regions of the country until June 2018.
The goal is bold, but the entrepreneur Sunil Cavichioni, which acquired control of the snail in 2006, says that the expansion was well planned in the last three years with the support from the Francap consulting. If all goes well, he hopes to quadruple the company's revenue until 2017, to r $ 50 million a year, up from the $ 12.4 million counted in 2102.
The plans are not limited to chocolates. Natural lawn, Cavichioni, 47 years, began working in the warehouse of dry and wet the family to 11. With 16 years he emancipated to open a galeteria, Mamma Mia, which today has six own points in Rio Grande do Sul and also advance through franchises, but in fast-food format.
The negative climate that settled this year, with high inflation and the economy frightens not skating, the entrepreneur. Accustomed to going through periods of turbulence in his career as an entrepreneur, he is "optimistic" about the country's growth in coming years and is convinced that the opportunities for expansion in the power segment not sold out with the less favourable situation of the moment.
Caracol produces 300 tons of chocolate per year in a shift operation. To monitor the network expansion, the plant will work in two shifts and receive "adjustments" and equipment to gradually reach a capacity of 1.2 million tons per year, without the need for large investments, says the businessman. The number of employees should increase from 55 to 85.
The network of franchisees of the Snail will include the 12 current licensed stores, which today can sell other products and will be converted to the new model by the end of the year. They operate in Porto Alegre, São Paulo, Santos and São Vicente, São Paulo, Curitiba, Foz do Iguaçu (PR) and Caldas Novas (Goiás). For the new, the preference will be for the installation in shopping malls.
The plan provides for the opening of ten stores by June 2014. In the first two years, the focus will be in the South and Southeast and the first unit of the new series will be inaugurated in two months, in shopping Ibirapuera, in São Paulo.
For the galeterias Mamma Mia, the expectation is to have 100 franchisees at malls in five years. The first franchise operates from the end of 2012 in Santa Catarina.
