Coca-Cola challenged in China

The American soft drinks giant Coca-Cola announced on Wednesday "to cooperate fully" with the Chinese authorities, after being charged with illegally mapping part of Yunnan province (southwest), logistic and marketing purposes.
"Coca-Cola illegally obtained confidential information with portable GPS device," says the website of the Yunnan provincial government, citing the local office responsible for the cartography.
Coca-Cola admitted that its logistics activities are organized that bottlers units include the use of Digital Cartography and other techniques, but highlights that are freely sold systems.
"During the past several decades, some of our bottling units in China have adopted logistics solutions to improve customer service, as well as fuel efficiency," said a company spokesperson said in a statement. Industrial plants complained cooperated with local authorities to ensure that their logistics systems "are in accordance with the regulations in force," said the spokesman for Coca-Cola.
