Sporting goods market can grow 8% this year

In the year of the World Cup, an event which ends on Sunday in Brazil, the sale of articles and athletic shoes should have increased 8% in comparison to 2013, to achieve revenues of R $ 16.3 million. The data were obtained by Pyxis consumption, market sizing tool Ibope intelligence. The research was also identified that the per capita consumption of these products will be, on average, $ 95,91, compared with the $ 92,30 last year.
The class B presents the greatest potential for consumption, with R $ 7.32 billion, which represents 45% of the total. Already the class C, which still stands out as the primary slice of consumption, has spent estimated at r $ 6.37 billion, 39% of the total. The study showed, too, that the Southeast region concentrates half the consumption potential of the country, with $ 8.41 billion. But in per capita spending, the southern region has the greatest potential, with $ 123,29, followed by the Southeast (US $ 106,89) and Midwest ($ EUR 105,98). In the northern region, per capita consumption is estimated at r $ 66,90 and in the Northeast, for $ 64,09.
In the analysis by class and region, class B southeastern leads with $ 3.98 billion estimated consumption potential to 2014. Class C, also in Southeast, appears then, with R $ 3.22 billion. The northern region has the lowest consumption potential in all classes, having the higher consumption in the class C ($ 344,27 million) and the lowest in classes D and e ($ 99,38 million).
The consumption potential refers only to household consumption, i.e. physical person shopping next to retailers in the business and includes the acquisition of sneakers and shoes for adults, sporting equipment, bikes for adults, gym equipment, accessories for fishing and camping, among others.
