Production of beer falls 2.36% in July compared with July 2015 2016, points Sicobe

SAO PAULO-brazilian beer production fell 2.36% in July compared with the same month of the previous year, according to preliminary data of the Control system for the production of beverages (Sicobe), the internal revenue service. In the month, were produced 961,000,000 litres of beer.

Several States raised taxes on beer this year. As the Brazilian Beer Industry Association (CervBrasil), the beer June inflation measured by the consumer price index (IPCA) accumulates high of 3.5% in the case of the product for home consumption; away from home, the high was 2.8%.
Soft drinks
The production of soft drinks also presented retreat last month. Were produced 1.003 billion liters, down 6.17% in comparison with the same month of the previous year. Between January and July, the total production of soft drinks was 7.817 billion liters, a retreat of 4.43% compared with the same period in 2015.
