Kimberly-Clark: Profit advances 2.9% in the third quarter, to $ 562 mi

SAO PAULO-the net income attributed to controllers of Kimberly-Clark, American manufacturer of consumer goods like tissue paper, advanced 2.9% during the third quarter compared with the same months of 2013, shows balance sheet disclosed on Tuesday. The figure totaled US $ 562 million.
The Group's net revenues grew 3.4% in the period, to $ 5.44 billion. The volume of sales was 2% higher, while high prices ensured more 2% gain. In the international segment, the company said that Brazil, China, Russia, Eastern Europe, South Africa, South Korea and Viet Nam were the most responsible for the acceleration of sales.
American's sales costs increased 2.4% between July and September, to $ 3.54 billion. At the same time, research and general expenses rose 2.1% to $ 1.01 billion--advancement in rate less than the IRS. Thus, the operating profit grew by 12.4% to $ 907 million.
"The ongoing restructuring program will make our Organization more efficient, allowing us to dilute the impact of costs that already have risen too much and give us flexibility for investments in future growth," assured Thomas Falk, President of Kimberly-Clark, in a statement.
