Pulp production falls in August

The brazilian pulp industry reduced 0.8 percent in production in August over the same period last year, but exports rose 9.4 percent on the same basis of comparison, reported on Thursday (28) the Brazilian Industry of trees (Ibá).
Pulp production last month fell to 1,540,000 tons, said the Association of producers. In comparison with July this year, there was a retraction of 3.7%.
Pulp exports already amounted to 1,110,000 tonnes in August, up 12 percent compared to July.
Recently, the Eldorado has announced an increase in the prices of raw material. For Europe, North America and China, the adjustment was $ $30 per tonne. In South Korea, was $ $50 per tonne.
The sector, which also represents producers of other wood-based raw materials, stated that the production of paper grew 4.5% last month compared to the previous year, to 907,000 tons, with the volume produced packaging paper advancing 4.9 percent and, for printing and writing, with high of 4.7%.
The internal market
Domestic sales of paper already were virtually stable, down by 3% drop in sales of printing and writing papers, while the rose 3.3% packaging.
Shares of pulp-producing Fibria and Suzano were among the largest high Ibovespa on Thursday (28) at 11:23. Fibria had 4.3 percent gain while Suzano, which also produces paper, had 2.5% recovery.
The day before, the President of rival Eldorado Brazil, José Carlos Grubisich, said he sees stocks of pulp in the world still contained and the heated demand, which makes room for new input price adjustments in the coming months.
According to Ibá, sales grew 7.5% panels in the domestic market in August over the past year and 4.2% in comparison with July, to 573,000 cubic meters.
Exports of raw material, which is used in the construction industry, advanced 14.7% compared to the previous year, to 125,000 cubic meters.
