After losing sales in Brazil, Walmart has new international leadership

Walmart plans to appoint the Director of operations of the United States, Judith McKenna, as the new Executive Chairman of international activities, according to sources heard by Dow Jones Newswires.
The Executive should assume the new post from February 1st, replacing David Cheesewright, who was in front of the function for four years, during which time the company faced difficulties with falling sales in the United Kingdom and recession in Brazil.
At Walmart, the International President is seen as a step towards the Executive Presidency of the entire group. The current President, Doug McMillon led the international operations between 2009 and 2014.
