Wal-Mart tests in the USA direct food delivery in the fridge of the customers

Wal-Mart Stores are testing a service to deliver food directly from its stores to customers ' refrigerators in the United States, expanding the rivalry with the e-commerce giant Amazon.com.
The delivery of supplies and kits of food is emerging as the next frontier of competition among retailers in the USA.
The largest retail network in the world announced on Friday that it is working in partnership with the August Home, a provider of intelligent locks and accessories for home, to test the service with certain customers in Silicon Valley.
As part of the test, couriers of the Wal-Mart gain access to customers ' homes through a valid password only once. Once inside the residence of the customers they put stuff in the fridge and leave other commands in the House.
Consumers receive notifications when the delivery of the products is taking place and can watch the process in real time by means of surveillance cameras operated by application of August Home.
The grocery business from Amazon should be driven by the acquisition last month of supermarket chain Whole Foods. In addition, the online retailer is also consolidating more deeply in the restaurant business.
On Friday, Amazon Restaurants joined the company from online orders in a partnership that will help Olo customers of Olo to connect with Amazon's delivery services.
The competition in the business of food kits is also heating up. The Albertsons supermarket operator said it will buy Cos the packed food delivery service, while the rival Ralphs, Kroger, began selling products in its stores this week.
