Supermarket sales grow 7.58% in July

Supermarkets recorded 7.58% increase in sales-deflated by the IPCA/IBGE-in July in comparison to the immediately preceding month. Compared to the same month of the year of 2015, sales rose 4.20%. Year to date, sales showed high of 0.66%, in comparison with the same period of the previous year.
In nominal values, the industry''s sales showed high of 8.14% compared to the previous month and when compared to July last year, up 13.31%. Year to date, sales rose 10.27%.
The figures were released on Tuesday (30/80) by Abras (Brazilian Association of Supermarkets).
