Increase of the bean and products of animal origin make agricultural prices in June, concludes IEA

The price of beans in recent months and of animal products contributed to raise at 5.12% the variation in prices of agricultural products in June, as it was established the Department of agriculture and food supply in the State of São Paulo, through its Instituto de Economia Agrícola (IEA). Of items researched for the calculation of the index of Prices Received for Agricultural Quadrissemanal Paulista (IqPR), 16 recorded high prices, being 11 products of vegetable origin and five of animal origin.
At the top of the rankings, the price of beans increased from 102.88 percent compared to may, followed by banana-runt (63.67%), potato (32.63%) and peanut (26.18%). Pork appears in fifth place, with positive variation of 23.10% in retail value.
According to the study, the variation of bean prices should be viewed with caution, as there is little product under possession of producers, which signals that the majority of farmers have not benefited from the high prices. "This happened due to decrease in 30% of the area cultivated with the beans dry period in the State. Add to that the lower Paraná and Minas Gerais production because of the weather, "explained the researchers responsible for the Feminist study Angelo and Danton Leonel de Camargo Bini.
In General, all products of animal origin were discharged in June, 23.10% on pork, 11.55% in chicken, 11.18% on eggs and 10.34% in milk. "This can be attributed in part to the rising price of feed for animals (birds and pigs) and in supplement form for dairy cows, which had damaged the climate grasslands, a process of heat and drought in April and the final period of autumn and early winter (less sun exposure) with occurrences of frost. These factors contributed to rising prices of such meat and milk ", how do they explain the authors of the survey.
On the other hand, the study also pointed out that the Orange for industry, the tomatoes for the table and the table Orange showed a drop in prices, to 5.42 percent, 3.18 percent and 1.27 percent, respectively. The full survey can be accessed at this link.
