BRF R$ 50,000,000 invests to meet demands of Jamie Oliver

Sadia, mark of the BRF, will launch in September a line of frozen chicken with the name of the chef and English activist Jamie Oliver. On a visit to Brazil to define the final details of the line, the Cook told today in an interview in Sao Paulo that 183 of the integrated avian BRF were adapted to meet animal welfare practices defended by him.
In all, the brazilian company has invested R$ 50,000,000 in adaptations and the development of products. Located in Goiás, the farms that will create the chickens that will have the signature of Oliver may harbour 40,000,000. The volume is small in comparison with the production of the brazilian company. Global leader in the production of chicken meat, the BRF 7,500,000 bird slaughter per day.
Among the changes made to meet the criteria of the Cook, the company installed perches and beds of sand in farms, with the goal of making the creation of chickens closer to the natural environment. In addition, the company also reduced the density of birds in farms and will not use antibiotics in animal husbandry. Traditionally, antibiotics are used in the production of chickens in Brazil and in other countries of the world to accelerate weight gain. However, bacterial resistance to antibiotics is one of the biggest concerns of the activist.
In an interview, Oliver lamented the passing of the United Kingdom''s output of the European Union. "I love Europe", he said. Despite this, the English chef said I don''t believe that the output of the European block change "high standards" in food production.
