Abihpec and Apex-Brazil renew partnership to encourage the exports of HPPC

The Associação Brasileira da Indústria de personal hygiene, perfumery and cosmetics (Abihpec) has signed the renewal, for another two years, the agreement with the Brazilian Agency of Promotion of exports and investments (Apex-Brazil) for the development of actions within the beauty care sector project Brazil.

The beauty care Brazil promotes the internationalization of Brazilian companies for personal hygiene, perfumery and cosmetics (HPPC) in order to increase exports of finished products and raw material sectors, through the encouragement of participation in fairs, business rounds, brand activation projects buyers abroad, training and technical and regulatory compliance.

According to the President of Abihpec, João Carlos Basilio, the pace of growth in exports of the companies supported by the project is outperforming the average expansion of other industries in the sector of HPPC. "The results of the Brazil beauty care demonstrate that the project lives a positive phase, promoting greater competitiveness among companies and new investments. The project raises the Brazilian brands to a new level of recognition and technological innovation for the world, "he says.
Exports of 58 participating companies of beauty care Brazil last year totaled US $ 183,2 million, an increase of 16% from 2013. This value represented 23% of the total sold abroad throughout the sector of HPPC, which in 2014 totaled $ 798,2 million – an increase of 2% compared to 2013.
"The support of Apex-Brazil the Brazilian sector of HPPC, with actions to promote business and diversified image and on internationalization is strategic, because the complexity and dynamism of the international market demands of Brazilian companies, increasingly, a level of competitiveness that they can only develop through experiences and knowledge gained in the process of internationalization," says the President of Apex-BrazilMauricio Borges.

From 2013, companies producing inputs for the sector of HPPC also participate in the beauty care Brazil. Currently, there are 14 of this segment, which jointly accounted for 14% of the exports of the project in 2014. "For this new Covenant have the expectation to consolidate the image of businesses in markets where they already operate and take advantage of opportunities for entry into other countries, seeking continued growth of export performance and internationalization," said Gueisa Silverio, Manager of the Brazil beauty care.

The target markets for the implementation of actions to promote the segment of inputs are Germany, China, Colombia, South Korea, United States, France, Japan and Mexico. The target markets for finished products are Angola, Chile, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, United States, France, Mexico and Russia.
