Mahle provides lower production rate

The auto parts manufacturer Mahle Metal Leve yesterday outlined a scenario of slowing domestic market, but export recovery in the second half. Given the excess stock of vehicles in the network, the company says that the automakers-which consume his pieces-tend to slow down the pace of production until the end of the year, even taking into account the resumption of exports of cars and the replacement of imported vehicles by nationals.
In the accounts of Mahle, the Brazilian automotive market closes 2013 with a growth close to 2% in vehicles sold and 3% in the production. Until July, sales, including trucks and buses, advanced 2.9%, while production rose 15.8%.
Despite this, Thomas Klein, Vice President of Mahle Metal Leve said in Conference call with analysts who still sees risks to achievement of the goals outlined by Anfavea, the entity of automakers in Brazil, which predicts growth of 3.5% to 4.5% of sales and 4.5% of the production.
In exports, where the Mahle registered 8.4% fall in shipments to automakers in the first half, the company provides a reaction until the end of the year to close the year at the same level of 2012. The expectation if ampara in the devaluation of the Brazilian real and the heating demand in the United States and Europe.
