Investment in technology continues to grow

With social distancing measures extended by companies, which demonstrate the possibility of maintaining the home office format, and by consumers, who are better adapted to online commerce, technology solutions tend to grow even more as main channels of purchasing, communication and work in the coming months. And to meet all this demand, more specialized labor is needed.
According to figures collected by infojobs website for BBC News Brazil, in April, among the opportunities offered by the platform, the area with the highest volume of positions was precisely informatics / IT, with 6,577 posts.
For the technical director of the Institute of Smart Cities (ICI), Fernando Matesco, the demand for professionals in the sector demonstrates the importance that the segment has gained as a strategy for adapting to the new consumption format and sanitary standards. "The pandemic required immediate changes and evolutions so that some companies could continue working, whether it was to enable online sales or even create a stable system for the home office. This proves how essential it is to maintain a technology core prepared within any institution," he explains.
For Matesco, the main concern of companies now should be with the adjustment of flow and capacity of digital platforms. "With social isolation, remote access to websites, applications and online tools tends only to increase, and gain new adherents. Therefore, institutions must, in addition to implementing these systems, ensure their maintenance and operation", he points out.
In addition, another point highlighted by the director is the attention to cybersecurity. "With the increase of online users, the protection of a company's data and its care in the maintenance and expansion of the network should be redoubled, since the high flow can have a direct interference in the operation of the system and possible leakage of information", he advises.
In this scenario, some functions recorded higher demand growth. According to a survey by Page Group, a global specialized recruitment company, six IT positions have increased hiring. They are: support analyst and Service Desk, cybersecurity analyst, infrastructure and network specialist, cloud specialist, data science leader, cybersecurity leader.
