Clothes and shoes will be the most searched for mother''s day

São Paulo-search of intended purchases of the São Paulo commercial Association (ACSP) reveals that 47% of Brazilians plan to buy this mother''s day. Among the favorite items, clothing and footwear follows at the top of this list.
"This suggests that this mother''s day trade should sell the same amount [than last year], i.e., the growth will be close to zero, with slight variations up or down," says the President of ACSP and the Federation of trade associations in the State of São Paulo (Facesp), Alencar Burti.
"That''s not bad news, because the tie indicates that the worst is over. Retailers stopped falling to enter the stability and subsequently start the road to recovery. "
Respondents who did not know or did not reply amounted to 3%.
For consumers who will present the mothers, the ACSP asked what they will buy. Clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories are preferred in 34% of them. In second place are jewelry, costume jewelry, perfumes and cosmetics (23%). Flowers (9%), cell phones (4%), household appliances (4%), TVs (2%) and chocolate (2%).
The portion of those who still do not know what to buy rose from 22% in 2016 to 26 percent this year. "As there are more undecided, the retailer has the opportunity to sell higher-value products, but will have to make a good offer or offer a credit. Another suggestion is to invest in marketing and promotions. There are people looking to buy; they just don''t know what, "said Burti. He recalls that mother''s day is the second strongest for trade date.
