Insufficient volume-sugar prices should remain High in Brazil

According to the Center for advanced studies in applied economics (Cepea), crystal sugar prices in the Brazilian market should continue at high levels throughout 2017, sustained mainly by new world deficit estimates sweetener. According to the entity, although it has been designed a slight 3% recovery in global production to 2016/17, to 171 million tons, the volume should not be enough to meet the demand, estimated at 174 million tons, according to figures from the United States Department of agriculture (USDA). The reasons, according to the Cepea, are the lack of sugar cane Encore and low rates of renewal of plantations.
