DuPont develops anti-counterfeiting film

DuPont Advanced Printing developed Izon ® 3D, a DuPont safety film. It is an anti-counterfeiting packaging film, which utilizes image technology allowing the obvious features authentication directly on the packaging of the product on the label, on labels or tags.
"Embossed holographic Films are usually used to apply packaging anti-counterfeiting features. However, embossed holographic films are very well known and become easy to copy by counterfeiters, "said Peter Waker, Global Marketing Manager, DuPont Advanced anti-counterfeiting Printing Products. "The safety film Izon 3D uses a DuPont patented imaging process to create an appearance that is clearly differentiated and truly 3D", he added.
DuPont claims that Izon 3D features different items, among them, the side point validation design, which makes it easier to verify the images in 3D, and a holographic red icon, which blocks the embedded image to ensure fast authentication.
Remembering that the ADIPEC-Association of Distributors and importers of Perfumes and cosmetics for many years created a holographic seal so that consumers could distinguish true from false imported fragrances.
The Association has recently signed an agreement with the Customs and inland revenue to ensure the search, seizure and destruction of illicit cosmetic products. There will be five planned operations by the end of the year. The partnership is also aimed at the correct disposal of seized articles, respecting the environmental legislation in force in the country.
