Consumers say economy is worse than in 2015

Sao Paulo-Brazilian consumers believe that the economic situation is worse than last year.
Survey conducted by Boa Vista Central Credit Protection Service (SCPC) called Research consumption habits-World Consumer Day 2016 shows that, of the total of 504 respondents, 73% have this opinion, 17% rate that is equal to 10% and is better.
Pessimism for the economy is higher in the Southeast, where the percentage was 78%, compared to 74% in the Midwest and also in the South, 73% in the Northeast and 50% in the North.
In the Division by income class, the study showed that the class A/B are the most pessimistic about the brazilian economy, with 83%. Then come the classes C and D/E, both with 74%. By gender, women are more pessimistic (80%) than men (70%).
In the analysis of the most worrying issues, unemployment is the most quoted (57%), followed by inflation (23%), the reduction of income (11%) and the reduction of credit lines (9%). By region, the North is the most concerned about unemployment (71%) and by classes, the D/E (67%).
However, with regard to their own financial situation, consumers are optimistic: 88% consider that their personal finances in 2016 will be better or the same level as the previous year, while 12% the finances will be worse this year.
Yet the study, 48% of them consider that the accounts are balanced, although a significant share (42%) spend more than it receives. The study also showed that 46% are deemed to be "balanced" in relation to their consumption habits.
The survey was conducted from 2 to 23 February, with 504 consumers Positive Consumer site users.
